All funds raised go towrds programmes hosted by Lionesses Club of Lae.

Ice-cream delivery to Angau Hospital

Last year it was discussed at our Lioness meeting, if it would be possible, to deliver ice cream to the local hospital . The club approached the local Gala ice cream factory here in Lae. Gala was very pleased to come on board with this new project. Gala has provided every week, two sixteen litres of ice cream and a box of cones for the last fifteen months. The company and Lioness Club Lae have formed a great partnership with this ongoing project.

Every Monday a Lioness member picks up the ice cream and delivers it to the hospital. One container is used and given lovingly to the patients and the other is stored at the hospital cancer kitchen. The distribution of the ice cream is spread between two cancer wards plus the two children’s wards. This is dependent however, on the amount of people in those wards. If we have some ice cream and cones the members happily give it to Susu Mama’s ward.

The Lioness Club ladies have two to three members scooping and passing out ice creams to the local patients and children.

The next delivery is on Thursday. We pick up the remaining container from the kitchen. Distribute once again to the cancer and children’s ward and also to the surgical ward. What a wonderful project this is to see so many happy faces. After all who doesn’t like an Ice Cream.
